This is the summer of event photography, apparently! 😉 Morton Library pictures last weekend and this adorably sweet daddy-daughter dance at Crosspoint Church in Eureka this weekend.

I'm a documenter at heart. It works out well, because whenever I am anywhere, I'd just as soon be capturing vs. spectating. Capturing is how I experience anything. It may seem counter-intuitive, because most would see taking pictures as a distraction from what's going on in front of you. For me, it's the opposite. It immerses me in the event, allowing me to tell the story of what I see happening. There are little moments everywhere. Especially at a daddy-daughter dance 🥹

My girls attended this dance with their dad, so it was extra special to see them enjoy it behind the camera. Ironically, I don't take lots of pictures of my kids with my nice camera. The iphone camera is so legit these days that it does the job superbly for everyday captures. But for something like this, the nice camera really hits the spot, both for grabbing candids and also the cute little photo booth that was set up for dads & daughters to get their picture taken.
